- PR 1.2 Vereda do Pico Ruivo: Access to Madeira’s highest mountain from the Achada do Teixeira car park is open and safe.
- PR 1.3 Vereda da Encumeada: The trail connecting Pico Ruivo and the Encumeada pass is completely closed.
Recommendation: To summit Pico Ruivo, take the route from Achada do Teixeira (PR 1.2). If you are heading to Pico do Areeiro, be prepared to return the same way. Don’t forget the entrance fee for select trails, which can be paid online.
